Financial Communication Skills Program
Building confidence in client conversations and presentation techniques
Money conversations make people uncomfortable. And when you're managing someone's finances, that discomfort can turn into misunderstandings, missed opportunities, or worse—lost trust.
This program addresses something most financial professionals learn the hard way: technical expertise doesn't automatically translate to clear communication. You might understand portfolio allocation inside and out, but explaining it to someone who just wants to know if they can retire comfortably? That's a different skill altogether.
We've built this curriculum around real scenarios from Australian finance teams. The challenges you'll work through come from actual client meetings, stakeholder presentations, and those tricky moments when numbers need to become narratives.
How the Program Works
The course runs over sixteen weeks, starting September 2025. We've structured it to fit around working schedules—most participants continue their current roles while completing the program.
Each module focuses on a specific communication challenge. You'll learn techniques, practice them in simulated scenarios, then apply them to your own work situations. The feedback loop is what makes it stick.
Foundation Phase
Understanding communication patterns, identifying your default style, and recognizing when technical language helps versus when it creates barriers.
Application Phase
Working through case studies, conducting practice presentations, and developing your personal approach to complex financial discussions.
Refinement Phase
Handling difficult conversations, managing stakeholder expectations, and building communication systems you can use long after the program ends.
What You'll Actually Do
The program combines weekly sessions, independent assignments, and peer practice groups. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Live Sessions
Two hours weekly covering new techniques and frameworks. Sessions include group discussion and immediate application of concepts to real scenarios.
Practice Labs
Recorded presentations you submit for review. You'll present financial concepts, then receive specific feedback on clarity, pacing, and persuasiveness.
Peer Groups
Small cohorts meeting between sessions to practice techniques together. These informal sessions often generate the most useful insights.
Resource Library
Templates, scripts, and frameworks you can adapt immediately. Participants often use these materials in client meetings during the program.
Case Reviews
Analysis of communication successes and failures from Australian financial contexts. Understanding why something worked or didn't helps develop judgment.
Final Project
A comprehensive presentation developed and delivered to simulate a high-stakes stakeholder meeting. This becomes part of your professional portfolio.
Who You'll Learn From
Our facilitators work in Australian finance and have spent years figuring out how to communicate complex information clearly. They've made the mistakes, learned from them, and developed approaches that actually work in professional settings.
